Rachel Fleischmann has a keen understanding of litigation strategy, and provides strong, vigorous, and thoughtful representation to her clients. She has over ten years of extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts throughout northern Illinois and has represented widely diverse clients in a variety of legal actions. Prior to joining Katz & Stefani, LLC, Ms. Fleischmann most recently worked at the Illinois Attorney General's Office where she successfully represented State agencies and officers in a wide variety of cases, including six trials in federal court. Prior to that, Ms. Fleischmann represented domestic violence victims in contested family law cases, including highly contested divorce, child custody, and removal actions. Over the course of her career, Ms. Fleischmann has prepared thousands of witnesses for depositions and trials, and has successfully represented her clients at trial and in settlement negotiations. Ms. Fleischmann draws on her vast experience when she begins each case by listening to her client, understanding his or her unique situation and goals, and working strategically to achieve success.
Ms. Fleischmann attended law school at George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C., where she served as the Student Director of the George Washington University Hospital Emergency Department's Domestic Violence Response Program and the Volunteer Coordinator for the GWU Public Interest Law Association. During law school, she was awarded the Public Interest Law Association Fellowship. Ms. Fleischmann also attended Bates College, graduating, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in English.
In addition to her legal work, Ms. Fleischmann has a strong commitment to public service. She is a volunteer at Between Friends, a domestic violence service agency. She is also an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and presently serves as a Programming Co-Chair for the Alliance for Women.
