Megan A. McCarthy received her B.A. from Marquette University graduating cum laude and as a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honors Society, and her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, Ms. McCarthy received her certification from the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Institute, she was president of the Medical-Legal Society, and a member of the Trial Moot Court Team. Ms. McCarthy also received the Jurisprudence Achievement Award, the highest grade in Trial Advocacy and Child Advocacy.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McCarthy worked on family law matters in Lake County, Illinois. She was responsible for representing clients on issues including child custody, visitation, paternity, orders of protection and dissolutions of marriage. Ms. McCarthy clerked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office from 2007-2009, and she has also worked as a volunteer attorney for the City of Chicago Torts Division.
Ms. McCarthy is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, and a member of CLAIM, Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers.
